We're partnering with a leading South African data consultancy that is building modern data platforms for a US‑based fintech client in the equity markets space. As they expand their delivery team, they're looking for dynamic, consulting‑grade Senior Data Engineers with deep skills in Snowflake, to help create scalable cloud solutions that power real financial intelligence.
The current need is for Engineers, with solid skills in Snowflake and adjacent technologies, to design and deliver modern cloud‑based data platforms for enterprise clients.
This is not a narrow role — you'll architect, optimise, and scale pipelines and warehouses where performance, reliability, and smart design decisions truly matter. If you thrive on solving complex data challenges, enabling analytics and AI, and working directly with business stakeholders, this is your platform.
WHAT YOU WILL BE BUILDING
- Enterprise‑scale ETL/ELT pipelines integrating diverse data sources
- Modern data warehouses and lakehouse architectures
- High‑performance transformations using Python, SQL, Spark
- Cloud‑native platforms on Azure, AWS, and GCP
- Solutions leveraging Snowflake, Databricks, Synapse, Redshift
- Trusted, curated data models powering analytics and AI initiatives
OUR REQUIRED EXPERTISE
- 5–10 years in Data Engineering
- Proven experience delivering enterprise‑scale data platforms
- Strong consulting or client‑facing background
- Deep expertise in Snowflake and cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Solid skills in Python, SQL, Spark
- Experience in data modelling, governance, and optimisation
- Bonus: Snowflake certifications, exposure to AI/ML pipelines, modern data stack tooling
