We are looking for a driven, adaptable, and technically strong Intermediate AI Engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving complex problems where the path forward isn't always clearly defined.
This is not a research role or a proof-of-concept environment. You'll work on production-grade AI solutions that deliver measurable business value while helping shape the future AI platform that will support the organisation's long-term strategy.
You'll operate across the full AI lifecycle — from data engineering and machine learning to MLOps, cloud infrastructure, LLMs, and platform development. Most importantly, we're looking for someone with a builder mentality. Someone who takes ownership, moves with urgency, navigates ambiguity, and can help guide and influence a growing team while remaining hands-on.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain production-grade AI and Machine Learning solutions
- Develop APIs, microservices, and scalable backend services to operationalise AI capabilities
- Build and optimise data pipelines across structured, unstructured, and vector-based data sources
- Implement monitoring, observability, testing, retraining, and governance processes for AI systems
- Contribute to the development of an enterprise AI platform and supporting tooling
- Work with cloud-native technologies, containerisation, and orchestration platform
- Design and implement solutions using LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, and prompt engineering techniques
- Translate business challenges into practical, scalable AI solutions
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to drive delivery
- Support, mentor, and influence less experienced team members while maintaining strong individual technical contribution
- Drive continuous improvement and help establish AI engineering best practices
- Bachelor's or Honours Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Strong academic track record
- Minimum 3+ years of experience delivering software, machine learning, or AI solutions within production environments
- Strong Python development experience
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
- Experience with source control, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practices
- Experience deploying solutions within AWS, Azure, or GCP environments
- Proven ability to take solutions from concept through to production deployment
- Strong understanding of machine learning principles and model lifecycle management
