We're looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer who thrives on running secure, scalable cloud platforms and ensuring payment systems operate flawlessly. You'll be joining the Card Rails team, helping power the infrastructure that processes card-present and card-not-present transactions across Africa.
This team owns the orchestration behind payment gateways, acquirer integrations, and the infrastructure that keeps transactions flowing securely and reliably.

WHAT YOU WILL BE BUILDING
- Infrastructure that powers high-volume card payment processing
- Automation pipelines that enable fast, reliable deployments
- Secure infrastructure for card-present (POS) and card-not-present (eCommerce) transactions
- Monitoring and observability systems that keep payment platforms healthy
- Resilient cloud infrastructure using AWS, Terraform, and container platforms
- Messaging and event-driven infrastructure supporting transaction processing
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- You'll work on mission-critical infrastructure that processes millions of transactions
- You'll help design and operate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure
- You'll build and maintain Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines
- You'll implement observability, monitoring, and alerting for payment systems
- You'll collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment automation and platform reliability
- You'll participate in on-call rotations supporting production infrastructure
OUR REQUIRED EXPERTISE
Technical Expertise
- 8–10+ years of DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure experience
- Strong experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
- Infrastructure as Code expertise (Terraform preferred)
- CI/CD pipeline experience (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins or similar)
- Container and orchestration technologies (Docker, Nomad, Kubernetes)
- Monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack or similar)
- Experience working with messaging or event-driven systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS, SNS)
- Experience operating high-availability production systems
- Experience in payments, fintech, card processing, or transaction-heavy platforms is highly advantageous
