Are you a seasoned network engineer with a passion for performance, automation, and scalability?

We're looking for a Senior Engineer within our NOC Config & Analysis function to take ownership of the long-term stability and optimization of our access network infrastructure.

This role is pivotal in designing and deploying metric-driven solutions, leading root cause investigations for performance deviations, driving configuration and capacity improvements, and collaborating with specialist teams and vendors.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive the design and deployment of metric-driven network improvements, ensuring solutions are thoroughly tested, validated, and aligned with performance targets.
• Take ownership of root cause analysis for under performing network segments, implement capacity planning strategies, and recommend configuration enhancements.
• Collaborate with vendors (MikroTik, Juniper, Cambium, BDCOM, Ubiquiti) and internal specialist teams to resolve advanced technical issues and support escalated cases.
• Lead analysis of degraded network performance metrics and oversee the implementation of configuration adjustments or infrastructure upgrades as needed.
• Apply and validate changes to network configurations—including routing protocols, Quality of Service (QoS), VLAN segmentation, and firewall rules—ensuring alignment with architectural standards.
• Plan, implement, and maintain OSPF deployments, as well as contribute to IP addressing strategies and firewall rule optimization.
• Develop or oversee the creation of automation scripts and tool integrations to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
• Mentor and guide Tier 3 engineers on advanced troubleshooting practices and structured root cause methodologies.
• Design logical network topologies, produce technical diagrams, and maintain accurate documentation of network infrastructure.

OUR REQUIRED EXPERTISE

• Matric / Grade 12
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Networks, or a related field
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, or JNCIP
• Experience or qualifications in Python scripting or network automation tools

YOUR REWARD

• Salary range: R350K – R500K CTC p.a.
