As a Technical Writer, you will play an important role in making complex technical information easier to understand and use. You will work closely with Development, Product, Training, and Sales & Marketing teams to turn technical information and product requirements into clear, practical documentation.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that technical and product information is clearly documented and accessible to the right audiences.

• Work closely with internal teams and subject-matter experts to understand products, features, requirements, and technical information.
• Research, gather, organise, and translate complex information into clear and concise technical documentation.
• Create technical product documents, manuals, process documentation, and configuration support materials.
• Develop user-friendly product documentation explaining product features, how they are used, and the benefits they provide.
• Review and refine existing technical documentation to ensure it remains accurate, relevant, and easy to understand.
• Create documentation using written content, diagrams, workflows, and visuals where required.
• Ensure documentation is appropriate for its intended audience and meets the required quality standards.
• Collaborate with Development, Product, Training, and Sales & Marketing teams to ensure documentation accurately reflects the product and its requirements.

OUR REQUIRED EXPERTISE

We are looking for someone who can take complex technical concepts and turn them into documentation that is simple, clear, and useful.

• Previous experience working as a Technical Writer or in a similar role within a software development environment.
• Experience creating technical documentation for software products, including written content, diagrams, workflows, and visuals.
• A portfolio or examples of previous Technical Writing work that can be provided.
• Experience reviewing and refining existing technical documentation.
• Experience using documentation tools such as Confluence, Notion, or similar platforms.
• Experience with visual and diagramming tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, draw.io, or similar.
• A good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software development.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

YOUR REWARD

• R600 000 to R660 000 per annum, inclusive of pension fund and group life cover
• Hybrid working model with 2 days per week in the Stellenbosch office
