Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY THAT AWAITS YOU
Don’t just build software. Own what you build.
Some engineers write code. Others own the systems they build from architecture through to production. We're partnering with a rapidly scaling global SaaS business looking for an exceptional Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to help shape the evolution of a product used across multiple markets.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who has personally owned significant technical initiatives end-to-end — from architecture and development through deployment, production support and optimisation.
We're looking for engineers who can demonstrate what they built, the complexity they solved, the scale they operated at, and the measurable impact they delivered.
WHAT YOU WILL BE BUILDING
- Scalable SaaS products used across multiple markets
- Cloud-native applications and distributed systems
- Complex backend services, APIs and integrations
- High-availability platforms and business-critical systems
- Cloud infrastructure and reusable platform capabilities
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own major features, services and technical initiatives end-to-end
- Lead architecture and design decisions across complex systems
- Build and optimise scalable C#/.NET and ASP.NET Core services and APIs
- Improve platform performance, reliability, security and scalability
- Investigate and resolve complex production and technical challenges
- Contribute directly to CI/CD, cloud infrastructure and DevOps
- Drive technical standards through design and code reviews
- Mentor engineers and lead through technical influence
- Work with Product and Engineering leadership to shape technical direction
OUR REQUIRED EXPERTISE
- 8+ years' professional software engineering experience
- Strong C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core and REST API experience
- Proven experience designing and operating cloud-native SaaS platforms
- Strong distributed systems and microservices experience
- Advanced SQL and database optimisation
- Azure and Infrastructure-as-Code experience
- Strong CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring and production support experience
- Excellent understanding of scalable, secure and maintainable software architecture
A KEY PART OF THE ROLE
- DevOps ownership matters.
- You should have hands-on experience with CI/CD, deployments and production environments. If your previous role had a separate DevOps team managing the pipeline and deployments, this probably isn't the right environment for you.
MORE IMPORTANTLY, SHOW US WHAT YOU’VE OWNED
We're looking for evidence, not just technology keywords. You should be able to talk about significant technical contributions where you personally:
- Took ownership from concept → architecture → deployment → production
- Solved a meaningful technical or business problem
- Operated and supported what you built in production
- Can quantify the scale, complexity or measurable impact
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
- Genuine end-to-end ownership
- Make technical decisions and understand the trade-offs
- Solve complex engineering problems
- Demonstrate measurable impact from your work
- Lead through influence rather than title
- Enjoy remaining hands-on while operating at an architectural level
- Reliability, quality and continuous improvement
YOUR REWARD
- Opportunity to shape a growing global SaaS platform
- Significant influence over architecture and technical direction
- Modern cloud, distributed systems and engineering practices
- International collaboration across South Africa and Australia
- Hybrid working – 2–3 days per week in office
- Cape Town – Tygervalley
- Competitive package aligned to experience and impact
If you've built it, shipped it, operated it and can prove the impact — we want to hear from you.
