YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive licensing strategy and execution — preparing and managing regulatory applications across multiple jurisdictions.
• Design and evolve Anti-Money Laundering (AML) frameworks — ensuring systems remain compliant, scalable, and defensible.
• Embed anti-fraud controls — working closely with product, engineering, and operations to introduce preventative measures early in the system lifecycle.
• Own cross-functional legal operations — translating legal and regulatory requirements into scalable processes, not just documentation.
• Draft and negotiate commercial, vendor, and technology agreements.
• Support banking, payments, and counterparty onboarding.
• Conduct legal research on evolving fintech, crypto, and payments regulations.
• Provide day-to-day support on operational and strategic legal initiatives.

OUR REQUIRED EXPERTISE

• LLB Degree and admitted attorney.
• 4+ years post-qualification experience in fintech, payments, or financial regulatory law.
• Experience in financial services, cross-border payments, or embedded finance environments.
• Exposure to licensing, AML frameworks, or fintech compliance.
• Ability to distill complex legal requirements into clear, actionable steps.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous environments where regulation evolves slower than innovation.
• Not a fit: Candidates focused solely on litigation, compliance policing, or non-commercial legal work.
• Bonus: Experience with FX, PSPs, crypto assets, or platform licensing.
