An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Enterprise Network Engineer to join one of South Africa’s largest independent broadband hubs, based in Plattekloof, Cape Town.

 

In this role, you will take ownership of designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-scale network environments for diverse customers. You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies across LAN, SD-WAN, firewall, and Wi-Fi infrastructure, ensuring networks are secure, resilient, and high-performing.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Design and plan secure and scalable enterprise network environments, including LAN, SD-WAN, Firewalls, and Wi-Fi.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain networking hardware and software in line with security best practices.
  • Support and ensure operational stability, performance, and resilience of enterprise networks.
  • Collaborate with project managers, systems engineers, and service delivery teams to deliver seamless solutions.
  • Implement upgrades, patches, and firmware updates on networking devices.
  • Document network designs, configurations, and changes in line with compliance and internal standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, templates, and tools for service delivery.

 

OUR REQUIRED EXPERTISE

 

  • 3–7 years’ experience in enterprise network engineering or infrastructure roles.
  • Strong knowledge of IP networking, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), VLANs, QoS, and security principles.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing SD-WAN and enterprise Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Familiarity with managed services environments, NOC/SOC collaboration, and change control processes.
  • Exposure to leading technologies such as Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba, Meraki, Ruckus, and others.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., CCNP, JNCIS, NSE, PCAP, Sophos).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, documentation-oriented approach.
  • Flexibility to participate in after-hours changes and standby/on-call rotations when required.
