An exciting opportunity exists for a highly experienced Infrastructure Support Specialist to join a well-established organisation that relies on enterprise-scale technology platforms to support critical business operations.

This role forms part of a mature IT Operations environment and is responsible for the design, implementation, optimisation, and support of the organisation’s virtualisation, storage, backup, and server infrastructure landscape.

You will play a key role in ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and performance of mission-critical infrastructure platforms while contributing to infrastructure modernisation initiatives, operational excellence, and business continuity objectives.

The successful candidate will work across multiple technology domains, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external service providers to deliver resilient infrastructure solutions that support both current and future business requirements.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise virtualisation, storage, and backup infrastructure

• Manage and optimise VMware virtualisation environments across the organisation

• Oversee enterprise backup and recovery solutions using Veeam Backup & Replication

• Administer and maintain user backup environments and data protection processes

• Manage server hardware infrastructure and associated platform technologies

• Support infrastructure lifecycle management, upgrades, and optimisation initiatives

• Drive infrastructure-related projects from planning through implementation

• Monitor and maintain infrastructure availability, performance, and reliability

• Liaise with and manage third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers

• Ensure accurate maintenance of technical and operational documentation

• Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure efficiency, resilience, and scalability

• Support disaster recovery and business continuity requirements

• Ensure compliance with operational standards, governance requirements, and safety procedures

• Participate in standby support, after-hours maintenance activities, and operational escalations when required

• Provide regular reporting and updates to IT leadership and key stakeholders

OUR REQUIRED EXPERTISE

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field

• MCSA/MCSE Windows Server certification

• MCITP Enterprise Administrator certification

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification

• Veeam Certified Backup Specialist certification

• Relevant storage infrastructure certifications highly advantageous

• 10+ years' experience administering Windows Server environments

• 10+ years' experience managing VMware virtualisation environments

• 10+ years' experience administering enterprise storage infrastructure

• 10+ years' experience managing enterprise backup solutions using Veeam

• Strong experience across:

  • VMware Virtual Infrastructure

  • Enterprise Storage Management

  • Backup and Recovery Solutions

  • Windows Server Administration

  • Infrastructure Operations

  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

  • Server Hardware Management

  • Enterprise Infrastructure Support

• Experience working within complex enterprise environments

• Strong vendor and stakeholder management capabilities

• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport

• Willingness to travel when required

• Ability to participate in rotational standby, weekend, and after-hours support activities
