Job Title: Field Engineer
Budget: R 30 000.00-R 35 000.00
Primary Responsibilities (majority of time):
• Unplanned Maintenance & Breakdowns
• Carry out unplanned maintenance on purification systems.
• Respond to equipment and system breakdowns urgently to restore operations.
• Troubleshoot and repair technical issues on-site.
• Project Implementation
• Execute project-related work directly on client sites.
• Support installation, commissioning, and testing of systems.
Secondary Responsibilities (moderate focus):
• Planned Maintenance
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on HPNOW systems.
• Ensure equipment reliability and reduce downtime through proactive servicing.
• Project Planning & BOQ/Quotes
• Assist in project planning and scheduling.
• Build Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and prepare project quotations.
Supporting Responsibilities (smaller focus):
• General Planning & Documentation
• Contribute to overall operational and technical planning.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and records.
• Office & Team Participation
• Attend office meetings and planning sessions.
• Support general office engineering tasks and administration.
Description of person we are looking at:
• Be hardworking, dedicated, and able to take initiative without the need for follow-ups or
constant oversight.
• Be capable of handling assignments independently, including being deployed to sites
across Africa and ensuring that work is completed successfully under any circumstances.
• Have strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through complex and often
frustrating challenges in a structured and persistent manner.
• Preferably have a background in water treatment or irrigation and a solid technical
foundation.
• Be fully computer literate, able to work with spreadsheets, reporting tools, and technical
documentation.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy in both technical tasks and reporting.
• Be willing to travel frequently within South Africa and occasionally to countries in sub-
Saharan Africa.
• Hold a valid passport and driver’s license, with access to their own vehicle (travel
reimbursements provided).
