Position : Chief Financial Officer
Location / Branch : Bryanston
Reporting to : Chief Executive Officer
Overview:
We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a full-time position to provide strategic financial leadership while mentoring and developing the finance team within a dynamic start-up environment. The ideal candidate must be a qualified CA with at least 10 years of progressive finance experience, including significant exposure to strategic financial management and start-up or high-growth environments. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and governance practices. The successful candidate will play a strategic role in strengthening the company’s financial position by providing timely insights, intelligence, and analysis to stakeholders, while fostering efficiency, innovation, and sustainable growth. The successful candidate will also be required to coach and mentor fellow team members and upskill from a technical, strategic and leadership perspective.
Responsibilities:
• Analysis of Financial Results. • Various Control and Systems implementation and review. • Tax compliance and all matters surrounding company tax • Overall management of budgeting and reforecasting process. • Management Account preparation. • Various operational reports. • Implementation and review of internal controls and processes. • Enhancement of systems. • Communication with suppliers, customers and other stakeholders. • Produce and present monthly financial reports for/to relevant stakeholders and executives. • Produce annual financial reports and financial statements in terms of IFRS to agreed time scales to
comply with the requirements of the company. • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements relating to financial control, financial management
and accounting. Ensure implementation and adherence to finance policies, procedures and systems across all territories.
• Engage with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance. Ensure appropriate external audit arrangements are in place and manage the audit process.
• Financial Modelling/Scenario Analysis.

Experience/Knowledge:
• CA(SA). • 10+ years of progressive finance experience. • Experience in Media and/or Fintech will be advantageous. • Proficient with Pastel, for both management accounts and annual financial statements. • Experience in the preparation and finalisation of accounts in accordance with IFRS. • Up to date knowledge on new IFRS standards and interpretations. • Up to date knowledge with South African Tax requirements ie Income Tax, Vat etc. • Knowledge of strategic and financial planning including costing, benchmarking, trends and KPIs. • Experience in budget preparation and reporting. • Computer literacy; fully conversant with the current uses of information technology. • Expert level of Excel skills and experience with Business Intelligence systems.
